לוזית הוא מושב בשפלת יהודה, השוכן ממערב לפארק בריטניה ולעמק האלה, בין הערים בית שמש וקריית גת. המושב משתייך למועצה האזורית מטה יהודה.

כקילומטר מצפון למושב נמצאת חרבת עטרבה, בה מערכת מסתור מימי מרד בר כוכבא.

היסטוריה

היישוב הוקם בשנת 1955 על ידי עולים מצפון אפריקה, ונקרא תחילה בשם "דיר דובן ב'" מכיוון שבמקום שכן קודם כפר ערבי בשם דיר דבאן. בהמשך הצטרפו למייסדי המושב עולים מאלג'יר.

היישוב נקרא בשמו הנוכחי על שם מטעי עץ השקד (לוּז) הגדלים באזור, אשר מאפיינים את אזור עמק האלה, ואשר שימשו בתקופות מסוימות כמקור פרנסה לתושבי היישוב. בתנ"ך נזכר השם לוּזָה כשם יישוב בבנימין.

כיום מתפרנסים תושבי המושב מחקלאות וממקצועות חופשיים. החל משנת 2010 קמה במושב הרחבה קהילתית אשר במסגרתה נקלטו עשרות משפחות, רובן עוסקות במקצועות חופשיים.

שירותי דת במושב

במושב שני בתי כנסת ומקווה טהרה, מאז 2022 רב המושב הוא הרב יוסף אבנעים.
