סמל קיבוץ שריד הישן

שָׂרִיד הוא קיבוץ מזרם הקיבוץ הארצי השוכן בצפון עמק יזרעאל, ליד מגדל העמק, ונמצא בתחום השיפוט של המועצה האזורית עמק יזרעאל.

היסטוריה

בתקופת העלייה הרביעית (1924–1928), היה עמק יזרעאל בראש סדר העדיפויות של קק"ל, אשר רצו להקים בעמק הפורה התיישבות חקלאית משמעותית, ויצירת רצף טריטוריאלי של היישוב, על ידי חיבור חיפה לגוש ההתיישבות בין עפולה לבית שאן. במסגרת המאמץ ליישב את העמק, קק"ל רכשו 30,175 דונם מהכפרים הערביים על יד נהלל ב-1924, עליהם הוקמו היישובים משמר העמק, רמת דוד, גבת, כפר ברוך וכן שריד.

שריד הוקם בתחילת שנת תרפ"ז (סוף שנת 1926) על גבעת כניפס. מקימי היישוב היו חברי קבוצת "אחוה" של חברי החלוץ מליטא, שעלו בשנת 1920 והחל משנת 1925 עבדו את קרקעות היישוב בעת שהותם במחנה הכשרה סמוך לגניגר. באביב 1927 הצטרפו לשריד קבוצת "ביברכה" של תנועת הנוער בלאו וייס מגרמניה שעלו בשנת 1924. בתחילה הוקצה ליישוב שטח של 2500 דונם.

היישוב קרוי על שם העיר המקראית "שריד" המזוהה עם תל שדוד הסמוך ומוזכרת בתנ"ך בגבולו של שבט זבולון.

כלכלת הקיבוץ מבוססת על המפעל לייצור אבני ליטוש "גמל" ועל ענפי חקלאות מגוונים - גידולי שדה, רפת, פרדס ועוד.

בין חברי הקיבוץ היה גם המשורר נתן יונתן. בנו ליאור שנפל במלחמת יום הכיפורים קבור בבית הקברות של הקיבוץ. את השיר שני אלונים כתב יונתן על שני אלונים בקיבוצו שנגדעו. השיר קיבל משמעות חדשה לאחר נפילתו של ליאור יונתן. בשנות ה-60 של המאה ה-20 פעלה בישראל שלישיית שריד, שהורכבה משלושה אנשי קיבוץ שריד.

ליד שריד בנו הבריטים שלושה בונקרים בהם אוחסנה תחמושת לצורכי שדה התעופה הסמוך ברמת דוד. ביוזמת הקרן הקיימת לישראל ובסיועה של ממשלת סלובניה ניטעה במקום חורשה והוקם חניון הנקרא חניון הבונקרים או חורשת סלובניה.

חינוך

בקיבוץ קיים מערך גנים המשרת את ילדי המקום.

תלמידי היסודי לומדים בבית הספר שגיא בקיבוץ שריד ותלמידי התיכון מתחנכים בבית הספר העמק המערבי בקיבוץ יפעת ובבית הספר עמקים תבור בקיבוץ מזרע.
