נחליאל היא התנחלות בעלת אופי חרדי לאומי במתכונת של יישוב קהילתי במערב בנימין, השייך למועצה אזורית מטה בנימין. נחליאל הוא חלק מגוש טלמונים-דולב, ממוקם על כביש 450 בין היישובים נווה צוף וטלמון ובסמוך לכפר הפלסטיני ביתילו. ביישוב כ-170 משפחות.

שם היישוב

בתחילה נקרא היישוב "נאווה" או "אילנית". לאחר מכן הוסב שמו ל"נחליאל" על שם ספרו של ד"ר יצחק ברויאר מהוגי הדעות של פועלי אגודת ישראל. שם הספר נלקח מהפסוק בספר במדבר: "וממתנה נחליאל".

היסטוריה

הקמת היישוב אושרה על ידי ועדת השרים להתיישבות ב-22 ביולי 1984, יום לפני הבחירות לכנסת האחת עשרה יחד עם שישה יישובים נוספים. עם קבלת האישור, ההתנחלות הועלתה במהירות על הקרקע עוד בטרם הוכנו תשתיות כדי לקבוע עובדות בשטח למקרה של חילופי שלטון. לאחר הקמת ממשלת האחדות נמנתה נחליאל בין ההתנחלויות שהוכרו על ידי הממשלה.

במשך שנים היישוב היה קטן מאוד. היישוב השתייך לתנועת "פועלי אגודת ישראל" דבר שהקשה על גיוס משפחות נוספות.^{[דרושה הבהרה]} בשנת 1985 נמנו ביישוב 10 משפחות. במאי 1990 התגוררו בנחליאל בין 15 ל-30 משפחות.

בשנת תש"נ הגיעו למקום משפחות חסידי חב"ד וכן נפתחה ישיבת חב"ד במקום. בעקבות זאת עם השנים השתנתה האוכלוסייה וכיום נושא היישוב אופי תורני-קהילתי עם דגש גדול על צמיחה ופיתוח האווירה הקהילתית. היישוב בנוי בפסגת הר בגובה 600 מטרים וכמו כן ניתן לראות את שפלת החוף ממנו.

אופי היישוב

בנחליאל בתי כנסת, ישיבה, מקוואות למהדרין (גברים ונשים), מכולת, פעילויות לנוער בנים ונוער בנות, חוגים לילדים ולנשים, משחקיה, ערבי נשים, התוועדויות של חב"ד, שיעורי תורה, הלכה וחסידות בימות החול וגם בשבתות וימים טובים. ביישוב בתי קבע שנבנו במהלך כל שנות קיומו, בשנים האחרונות נבנו ביישוב קרוואנים חדשים לאכלוס זמני. כמו כן במקום יחידות דיור פרטיות להשכרה.
