|primary |name= }} עַמִּיעוֹז הוא מושב בחבל צוחר שבחבל אשכול והשייך למועצה אזורית אשכול. המושב הוקם לראשונה ב־1956 על ידי יהודים שעלו לארץ ממצרים ורומניה. כאשר לא הצליחו להתיישב במקום עזבו בהשאירם 4 משפחות המהוות את אחד הגרעינים ביישוב כיום.
בשנת 1961 נעשה ניסיון ליישב במקום היאחזות של חסידי ויז'ניץ, שהתגייסו לצבא לשם כך[4], אך הניסיון נכשל והחסידים עברו למושב קוממיות[5]. אחריהם בשלהי שנת 1962 הגיעה קבוצת עולים ממרוקו, שבעזרת הסוכנות היהודית הקימו במקום ישוב פורה ומצליח.
שם היישוב הוא לזכר העוז והגבורה שהפגין צה"ל במבצע קדש.
בהיותו יישוב חקלאי או יישוב באזור פיתוח, עובדים המעתיקים את מקום מגוריהם ליישוב וגרים בו לפחות שישה חודשים רצופים, נהנים מכך שאם התפטרו לשם כך מעבודתם, ההתפטרות תיחשב להם כפיטורים.[6] בהיותו אחד מיישובי עוטף עזה, ניתן לתושביו זיכוי ממס הכנסה בהתאם לסעיף 11 לפקודת מס הכנסה.[7]
