נִילִ"י היא התנחלות בעלת אופי חילוני במתכונת של יישוב קהילתי בדרום-מערב שפלת השומרון, צפונית למודיעין עילית ודרומית לכפר הפלסטיני שיבתין ולעיירה שוקבא בגובה של 360 מטר מעל פני הים, מזרחית לכביש 446. היישוב נעלה, גם הוא חילוני באופיו, שוכן על גבעה סמוכה מזרחית לו. ניל"י שייך למועצה אזורית מטה בנימין ולתנועת אמנה. כיום גרות בניל"י כ-380 משפחות.
היסטוריה עריכה
תחילתו של היישוב בגרעין "נחושתן" שהוקם בשנת 1978 במסגרת תנועת בני ברית. הגרעין שאף להקמת יישוב עירוני חילוני במערב השומרון. גרעין העלייה הראשון כלל משפחות אשר שם לו למטרה להקים יישוב קהילתי כפרי – תוך שאיפה לחיי חברה ייחודיים וברמת איכות חיים גבוהה, בדגש על רמת חינוך והעשרה לדור הצעיר. ב-17 ביולי 1981 עלו שתי המשפחות הראשונות . עד נובמבר אותה שנה הצטרפו עוד כ-23 משפחות ליישוב. בתחילה התגוררו התושבים בקרוואנים ללא חשמל, ללא מים זורמים, ללא ביוב וללא טלפון. הבעיות העיקריות איתן התמודדו היו בעיות היום-יום ובעיית חינוך הילדים. הילדים בגילאי א'-ה' למדו במחנה גבעון, ילדי כיתה ו' למדו בירושלים, וילדי גיל תיכון למדו במקומות שונים במישור החוף. בספטמבר 1982 נפתחו ביישוב בית הספר הראשון, גן ילדים ומעון. בשנת 1988 התגוררו בניל"י 46 משפחות וב-2001 מנה היישוב 171 משפחות ובקרוונים הראשונים התגוררו בני דור ההמשך. בשנת 2011 החל פרויקט הרחבה אשר אמור לקלוט כ-180 משפחות חדשות.
מוסדות, חינוך ושירותים עריכה
בניל"י בית ספר יסודי לכיתות א'-ח' אשר שימש גם את היישוב נעלה הסמוך, עד לבניית בית ספרם החדש. תלמידים בגילאי תיכון לומדים בבתי ספר שונים בעיקר במודיעין הסמוכה.
ביישוב בריכת שחייה חצי-אולימפית הפתוחה בחודשי הקיץ, ספרייה, ובית תרבות שנערכים בו חוגים, מרכז לגיל הרך, הצגות ילדים, הרצאות למבוגרים, סדנאות, טקסים ופעילויות נוספות.
תנועת הנוער בית"ר הייתה פעילה ביישוב מספר שנים וכיום תנועת הנוער היא מכבי צעיר, המונה כ־250 חניכים מכיתה ג' ומעלה. ביישוב קיים מועדון נוער לבני נוער בגילאי ז'-י"ב.
