|primary |name= }} אֲחִיטוּב הוא מושב במועצה אזורית עמק חפר, שנמצא בין חדרה לנתניה ומשתייך לתנועת הנוער "האיחוד החקלאי". שטח המושב נע בין 2,900 ל-3,100 דונם.
היסטוריה עריכה
המושב הוקם בשנת 1951, על ידי עולים מאיראן ועיראק, בעיקר מאזור כורדיסטן. הוא נקרא על שמו של אחיטוב, נכדו של עלי הכהן, הנזכר בתנ"ך (ספר שמואל א', פרק י"ד, פסוק ג').
המושב מונה כ-100 משפחות של חברי מושב, ועוד 80 משפחות אשר הצטרפו לאחר הרחבתו אשר החלה בשנת 1985. התושבים הראשונים החלו את דרכם בעיקר כעובדי קיבוצים ויישובי הסביבה ולאחר מכן החלו עבודה עצמאית באמצעות זריעת תפוחי אדמה, גידול של 50 מטילות ו-2 כבשים מסוג מרינו. כיום, המושב מתבסס על חקלאות, בעיקר גידול מלפפונים וירקות נוספים בחממות.
היישוב הוקם כיישוב ספר על קו הגבול עם ממלכת ירדן.[4] היישוב סבל רבות מתופעת גניבות של מסתננים מעבר לגבול.
בראשית שנות הששים נפרקו כאן צינורות הענק של מוביל המים הארצי, שהופעל בשנת 1964.[4]
בשנת 1965, החלו חברי המושב לעסוק בעיקר בענף החקלאות. תחילה, גידלו מלפפונים ועגבניות בניילונים, ו-5 שנים לאחר מכן, ב-1970, החלו לפתח את הענף ולגדל את הירקות בחממות. 70% מחברי המושב עוסקים בענף החקלאות. באחיטוב מגדלים כ-70% מכלל המלפפונים הגדלים בישראל[5].
עד סוף שנות ה-60 פעלה במושב תחנת רכבת.
בשנת תשע"ה נבחר הרב חן סידה לרב היישוב. במושב בית כנסת ומקוה טהרה.
במושב מתגוררים כ-1,000 תושבים.[6] מרביתם חילונים אך ביישוב ישנו גרעין לא קטן של משפחות מסורתיות. התושבים עוסקים בחקלאות ו/או עובדים מחוץ לגבולות אחיטוב במקצועות שונים. באחיטוב נבנתה בשנים האחרונות הרחבה קהילתית שקלטה משפחות צעירות עם ילדים. משפחות אלה הצטרפו לקהילה המגובשת של היישוב הכפרי והעניקו לו זריקת אנרגיה דמוגרפית חשובה. לרשות התושבים שירותים קהילתיים כמו ספרייה, מזכירות פעילה, גני משחקים, מגרשי ספורט, צרכנייה, בית כנסת, דואר ומרפאה.
