|primary |name= }} א־שיח' דָנוּן (בערבית: الشيخ دنّون) הוא יישוב ערבי השייך למועצה אזורית מטה אשר והיישוב הגדול במועצה. היישוב ממוקם בגליל המערבי, כארבעה קילומטרים מזרחית לנהריה ומתגוררים בו כ-3,000 תושבים (נכון לשנת 2022).

היסטוריה עריכה

שי'ח דנון ושייח' דאוד היו שני כפרי לוויין של ע'אבסייה. סקר מפת הקרן לחקר ארץ ישראל משנות ה-70 של המאה ה-19 מציין 70 תושבים בשייח' דאוד, 50 תושבים בשייח' דנון[4] ו-150 תושבים בע'אבסייה[5]. במפקד האוכלוסין של 1922 נמנו בשי'ח דנון 106 תושבים, ובשייח' דאוד 193 תושבים, כולם מוסלמים[6].

לאחר מלחמת העצמאות החליטו השלטונות בישראל להקצות את שי'ח דנון ושייח' דאוד, אשר ביחד נודעו כשיח' דנון, ליישוב פליטים ערבים[7]. בינואר 1950 פונו מע'אבסייה תושבים ששבו אליו לאחר המפקד, לשיח' דנון[8]. באפריל 1951 הועברו לכפר עוד פליטים ערבים ששהו בכפרים דרוזיים אך לא נקלטו בהם[9].

חינוך עריכה

בכפר קיימים פעוטונים, גני ילדים, מקיף שש שנתי ומתנ"ס[10].

כלכלה עריכה

הכלכלה העירונית מתבססת על עסקים שונים בתוך היישוב וחקלאות. בנוסף לכך רבים מתושבי הכפר מתפרנסים מעבודה מחוץ לשיח' דנון מעבודה בבנייה ובמפעלי האזור[10].
